Online publication Cleveland.com is speculating that it might be time for the fan-favourite character to die. The website notes various reasons why Dixon will die this season. According to the website, Negan's arrival might mean a major death. In the comic book, Glenn dies at the hands of Negan but one can always expect an unexpected twist in the story.

Meanwhile, the website suggests that rumours claim that Dwight will return during the second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 and he will kill Daryl. At the same time, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus has signed on for an AMC reality series named, "Ride with Norman Reedus." This might mean he will be bidding goodbye to the series.

Dixon's death is also considered to be a major move in the Season 6 storyline possibly leading to a battle between Rick Grimes and Negan's groups.

Rumours about Dixon's death have been swirling around for a long time. Several fan theories suggest that it could be Dixon who will die at the hands of Negan instead of Glenn. Meanwhile, fans must brace themselves to say goodbye to some significant characters as hinted by Robert Kirkman, the "The Walking Dead" (TWD) executive producer. During his appearance on "Inside the Actors Studio," Kirkman explained why the show needs more deaths. He even reminded fans that no one is safe from getting killed off or becoming a zombie.

"If you go too long a period with characters surviving and being safe you lose that element of 'Oh my god, these characters could go at any moment," Kirkman said (as quoted by iDigital Times.

"That's a tremendously powerful engine that drives this thing and it's very emotional but in comics it's me and the artist going, 'I guess those lines in the paper don't exist anymore. Oh, well.' It's very emotional for us because we do love these characters but it doesn't have that added element that the TV show has where these are our friends that we see everyday but it doesn't stop us. We don't care," Kirkman added.

The report notes that Dixon has cheated death several times. It seems like he has become "untouchable." But will that be the case with the arrival of the new big bad. It is said that with Negan's arrival, one can expect unpredictable things.
