Tens of thousands of illuminated roses are forming an impressive backdrop for lovers ahead of this year's Valentine's Day in Hong Kong.

The Light Rose Garden is on a world tour and makes its first overseas stop in Hong Kong.

Originating in South Korea, the "Light Rose Garden" is a public art installation in which a sea of white roses, made with LED lights, glow in the dark.

The garden is made up of 25,000 waterproof white roses arranged tightly in Hong Kong's landmark Central and Western District Promenade, with 25 roses planted every three square meters.

Organizer Jung Yong Jin said that he is thrilled to see people outside of Seoul enjoying the garden.

"Hong Kong is a charming city. The nightscape is beautiful. That's why I chose Hong Kong. I created this LED rose garden because I wanted families, friends and lovers to come out to parks at night."

The "Light Rose Garden" is scheduled to open to the public from Feb. 14-22 in Hong Kong, before it moves on to Singapore.
