Showrunner Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly that the upcoming episode will be a prison break style theme. To make the episode more intense, the trailer for "Fail-Safe" is hinted to have another character being killed and this time is one of their own that will do the job, Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz).

Sara is in position to kill Martin Stein as a "contingency plan" in order to prevent Vandal Savage from creating their own version of Firestorm. This leads to the question; Will Martin Stein die in the episode? What will happen to Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) now, knowing that he cannot merge to become the Nuclear Man without his other haft.

In addition, "The Flash" star Carlos Valdes tweeted that his character Cisco Ramon/Vibe will be appearing in the upcoming episode, but did not state what role will he being during the show. Valdes stated in an interview that he will have a "different" take on Cisco during his appearance in "Legends of Tomorrow".

In other news, 'TMNT 2' star Stephen Amell will be appearing in "Legends of Tomorrow" as a future version of his character Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.

Guggenheim stated in an interview that the future Oliver Queen will have a missing arm and goatee in the episode "Star City 2146", based from Frank Miller's comic book storyline "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns". Connor Hawke will also be featured as Oliver's successor rather than his son in the comics, Screenrant reported.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will return on Thursday 8PM on the CW Network.
