"NCIS" season 13 second half is happening with episode 16, titled "Loose Cannons," airing on Tuesday, Feb. 23. The new episode focuses on new experiences and possibly a revived romance.

In the all-new episode, fans will be treated with Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) crossing paths once more with his old love, Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson). Earlier in the season, the two met when armed terrorists attacked Benoit's husband in their medical facility in South Sudan.

A synopsis shared by TV.com reveals that the ex-lovers will meet again when the "NCIS" crew collaborates with the task force to investigate yet another case involving doctors in Sudan. With DiNozzo exiting the show at the end of season 13, the character's personal relationships are probably of critical importance in the upcoming episode. The crew would not want to create a cliffhanger when it comes to DiNozzo.

According to Cartermatt, episode 16 will see the return of Scottie Thompson and Jon Cryer as Dr. Taft, after the two appeared in previous episodes of season 13. Dr. Taft will have a taste of what it is like to be a Medical Examiner for the NCIS.

Although Taft is not primarily a forensic doctor, he receives the rush of an underway investigation. As a result, he performs a surgery on a major suspect in Jethro Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) latest case.

In the process of the surgery, Taft uncovers some key evidence, which proves crucial in the investigation.

With Dr. Taft featuring in episode 16, Gibbs and his personal physical disposition could again be a key topic to explore. While Gibbs has been in many problems through season 13, it could be remembered that he is still recovering from almost fatal gunshot wounds.

Dr. Taft saved Gibbs' life, and warned him to take it easy. It will as well be fascinating to see Dr. Craft's interaction with Dr. Donald Mallard, the team's regular Medical Examiner.

"NCIS" season 13 episode 16 titled "Loose Cannons" airs next Tuesday on CBS at 8:00 p.m. ET.
