President Xi Jinping himself is not impressed with what China has achieved in terms of its GDP. For him, a country should not be judged by China alone.

Xi wants the Communist Party of China to know and practice dialectical materialism to achieve the ongoing reforms of the country.

Xi, as the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, shared in a meeting with the members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in attendance that dialectical materialism is the key to deep and successful reform.

The president claims that the country has a long way to go before becoming truly successful. For him, the country would remain at the primary stage of socialism for long time.

Even though China has improved its citizens' living standards and the strength of the overall country, it can face new threats and problems, which are changing in nature.

"We should grasp new traits in new phases of development, and stipulate guidelines in accordance with reality," Xi expressed, further stressing that ideology should be the heart of the Party.

The president stressed that continuous reforms are needed even though the country already has a strong GDP. The country should also be focused on restructuring, reducing overcapacity, and becoming more committed to an ecological society.

To do so, the CPC should be more holistic in its approach so that China could be prosperous in all aspects of the society. The president said the country should be ruled by law and the Party should be run strictly.

The CPC should use "core socialist values" to carry out reforms and solve different societal problems, Xi said.
