It was definitely a blast from the past when Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Monica (Courteney Cox), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Ross (David Schwimmer) of "Friends" fame got back together on Feb. 21, Sunday night to pay homage to the man who introduced them to the world, James Burrows.
The cast members of "Friends" were assembled for a special event organized by and aired on NBC to celebrate Burrow's recent direction of his 1000th TV episode. The event also honoured his forty year long glorious career that included some of the TV industry's most successful shows like "Taxi," "Frasier," "The Big Bang Theory," "Will & Grace" and "Mike & Molly" apart from all-time hit "Friends."
However, the highlight of the show remained the much-awaited reunion of "Friends" cast members. Mathew Perry, who famously played Chandler Bing in the series, could not attend the event as he was busy preparing for his play in London. However, he welcomed the others on the stage in a pre-recorded video.
"We would do anything for Jim Burrows because he really gave us the opportunity of a lifetime," Aniston declared during NBC's special. The actress also revealed that she developed a special bond with the co-stars right from season 1 and they would often watch the show together at each other's houses.
The show was also attended by 40 other actors from Burrows' various successful TV shows.
The joyful evening soon took an emotional turn when Burrows took the stage to thank his colleagues and supporters. While Aniston was seen dabbing her tears, "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco seemingly was also touched by the nostalgic word of the legendary director.
Meanwhile, newly-married Aniston was spotted in New York on Feb. 12, where she was accompanied by her husband Justin Theroux. The couple headed towards Richard Rogers Theatre on Broadway to watch the musical Hamilton, to mark the occasion of the birthday of the "Friends" star, Daily Mail reported.
Later, the couple chose to stay indoors for Valentines Day.
"We've actually scratched our dinner plans because I'm tired, so we're probably just going to put on pajamas and catch up on some Netflix," Theroux told E! News at the premiere of his ne film "Zoolander 2."
