"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 recently hinted on the possibility of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) having feelings for Alex Karev (Justin Chambers).
After Meredith's best friend Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, the former became much closer to Alex.
When her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) died, Meredith relied on Alex for all kinds of support.
Just recently, Meredith was involved in a fatal accident that caused her to become injured for a couple of months.
Throughout that difficult time in her life, Alex stood by Meredith's side, and reminded her constantly that she is not alone.
Fast forward to the present time, Meredith has recovered from the attack, but is still seeing her therapist.
During one of her sessions, Meredith spoke positively of Alex, and the therapist couldn't help but ask if she has feelings for him.
Meredith denied the therapist's allegations, but when she saw Alex kissing Jo (Camilla Luddington) in the car, she couldn't help but feel a little tug in her heart.
Maggie (Kelly McCreary) asked Meredith at that time what she plans to do seemingly referring to the latter's feelings for Alex.
Meanwhile, fans of "Grey's Anatomy" seem to not like the idea of Meredith and Alex becoming a couple.
On E! News site, fans have urged both ABC and executive producer Shonda Rhimes to not even think about pairing Meredith with Alex.
After all, Alex recently asked Jo to marry him, and the latter seems to have agreed.
One fan @iconic_platonic wrote, "No. No. So much no. ABC, Shonda do NOT put them together, it would probably be the dumbest move the show has ever made. It would make more sense to put her with Arizona than Alex, it would be INSANE."
Another fan @cliffco_823 wrote, "No! No! Please no. I don't think it would work. It would be way too cheesy."
@Emilee Calkins wrote, "Worst idea ever. However, with the way they have been molding Meredith's character, I wouldn't be surprised if they went down that road. Meredith is becoming quite a rude, self-centered person."
