After Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach followed the footsteps of Gloria Diaz and Margarita Moran, the Philippines is one of the countries to watch out for in Miss Universe 2016. While the pressure is on, Filipinos are hoping that Wurtzbach's successor will be the fourth Filipino to win Miss Universe.

On Feb. 12, the list of 40 official Bb. Pilipinas 2016 candidates was announced at a hotel in Quezon City, Metro Manila. Their official photos have been posted in the official Facebook page of the pageant.

Following the announcement of the official candidates, an online poll was conducted by Missosology.  In the poll, Filipino netizens, who are said to be one of the most avid beauty pageant fans in the world, are asked to vote for their favorite candidate.

Adding the number of likes their official photo on Facebook got and the number of votes they received in the online poll as of Feb. 27, Saturday, here are the 10 most popular candidates according to netizens:

1.      Kylie Versoza: 19,326 

2.      Kim Ross Delos Santos: 17,324

3.      Nichole Marie Manalo: 11,164

4.      Maria Gigante: 9,594

5.      Kimberle Mae Licao Penchon: 9,107

6.      Maria Mika Maxine Medina: 8,498

7.      Edjelyn Joy Cay Gamboa: 7,232

8.      Apriel Smith: 6,933

9.      Jeslyn Santos: 5,413 

10.  Angela Lauren D. Fernando: 4,824 

In the Top 20 are Dindi Joy L. Pajares, Jessica L. Gonzales, Sissel Ria Rabajante, Leonalyn Dela Cruz, Alexandra Faith Garcia, Sheena B. Dalo, Jehza Mae S. Huelar, Anjellica Lopez, Angelica R. Alita and Maria Lina N. Prongoso. Their votes ranged from more than 2000 to more than 4000.

Ranked 21st to 30th are Angelique Celine L. De Leon, Karen Ibasco, Niza Sabrina Sophia E. Limjap, Mariella Castillo, Roshiela Navarro Tobias, Janelle Olafson, Joanna Deapera Eden, Riana Agatha L. Pangindian, Paula Rich Bartolome and Sarah Christine Bona. Their votes ranged from more than 1500 to more than 2500.

Candy N. Del Castillo, Angela Gene R. Valdes, Kristine Angeli Q. Estoque, Vina Prulla Openiano, Jennifer Hammond and Jennyline Carla F. Malpaya received more than 1000 votes. On the other hand, Nicole Cordoves, Priscilla Kimberley Dela Cruz, Crescent Anne Samaco and Christianne Ramos failed to receive more than 1000 votes.
