"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" is basically an expanded version of the first sequel, bringing the Garden Warfare 1 features that received quite a bit more attention. Additional maps, playable classes, unlocks, modes and several other features are included in this second sequel, keeping with the Garden Warfare's quality of multiplayer action which is worth the game's retail value.
The most noticeable is the full 3D hub area, an upgrade that takes the place of the game's original limited menus. The "Backyard Battleground," a map that covers faction bases for plants and zombies, has about a zillion tiny kiosks. The players can walk up to the kiosks in order to gain access to everything, from matchmaking, stats up, to character customization.
"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" features the new quest lineup, extending the progression system. The players will have a large set of new goals to complete every 48 hours that will help to increase XP multiplier.
This will make each character class level up at a faster pace. The quests also provide stars that can cash in on the base decorations and treasure chests in a backyard hub, including a significant number of coins that can be spent on blind-box like the ones found in the original game.
Another big feature in the new sequel is the single-player content. Factions of plants and zombies have a long, distinct set of goals that players go through, although not quite elaborate. Some of these provide a little humor in the game's cheesy yet adorable style, and everything plays as a good preparation for the various cooperative modes, Digital Spy reported.
"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" has been able to take into 3D the game style of mobile-centric art, which provides even more effects, explosions and reflections. With a few similarities on visuals, the player can easily lose the target in a huge mess while a lot of characters are continuously firing nearby. However, even the bussiest combats get a little disorganized when firing is done by everyone.
"Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2" next sequel may be needing more plants and modes, but this latest installment should be enough for now, Giant Bomb reported.
