A recent statement about F1 champion Michael Schumacher's health indicates of slow progress.
Apparently, reports confirm that former Ferrari chairperson Luca di Montezemolo was quoted as saying that he had news about Schumacher, which was not positive. From the chairperson's statement, the F1 champion's health is said to be recovering but at a "painfully slow" pace.
According to Express, an inside source also reported that while Schumacher may be recovering, "there is no miracle on the horizon." Schumacher's "painfully slow" progress reflects how bad his health situation may still be.
It has been more than two years since Schumacher sustained a life-threatening injury in a skiing accident. Previous reports pointed out that his recovery was on track, but the news has been unclear all through because of a media blackout at his home.
Currently, the champion is continually monitored by a group of 15 medical personnel under the advisory of Professor Jean-Francois, who formerly served as Schumacher's doctor when he immediately suffered the accident.
In the meantime, Schumi's manager Sabine Kehm has dismissed the reports that Schumacher was already up and recovering. The reports which were initially published by News24 had purported that the F1 racer had achieved a substantial recovery and was even able to walk.
Kehm shelved the news describing the source as "irresponsible and offering false hope." She also added that only official statements given by her regarding Schumacher's health should be taken seriously.
Though there are scattered updates about the German driver, former Ferrari CEO John Todt also recently surfaced to comment on the Formula one legend whom he claims is an exquisite friend of his. Todt feels that his relationship with the driver has transformed significantly, and he finds the situation with him "difficult to comprehend."
"My relationship with him has changed of course, but I still have a relationship with him. I'm still his friend." Todt told Sportrageous. He also mentioned his close relationship Schumacher's wife and the Schumacher family in general.
As fans continue to hope for his recovery, it is quite uncertain whether Schumacher will recover fully. Peter Hamlyn, a neurological and spinal surgeon says that conditions as that of Schumacher more often than not take years.
