"Castle" has not yet been renewed by ABC for season 9.
However, it seems that some fans believe the once-hit TV show should not really be renewed anymore.
On Design N Trend's website, fans have been saying that there so many loopholes on the show that were never addressed.
However, it seems that the co-showrunners explicitly did so in the hopes of getting another season.
One fan @Dai10zin wrote, "Are they never going to address Castle's disappearance? It's like they've totally forgotten about it."
Another fan @Buddy replied, "They have addressed Castle's disappearance by saying that his disappearance is tied to LokSat because Castle went rogue and found out about LokSat while he was still in Los Angeles even before LokSat found out about LokSat. Now that will cause Castle and Beckett to work on LokSat together and they have already told us that Beckett will move back in with Castle in episode 16 probably to do this."
Meanwhile, some fans have expressed their disappointment regarding season 8, and the show in general.
@Microgrey wrote, "Fans are trying desperately to stick with the show this season, but the showrunners are making it all but impossible. Separating Castle and Beckett was a huge mistake. The biggest problem however, was knowing it was a mistake early on and choosing to do nothing about it."
Another fan @Vikki wrote, "End the misery, especially if s9 includes the return of the current showrunners, writers, and without both leads. This season has been dismal at best and the only reason they still have those 5+ million hanging on is because we want the happy ending all but promised for 7 years. I fear AH has something else in mind."
@Clyde Hightower wrote, "Castle and his muse are history. It is now Castle and his captain wife and they no longer get to spend muse time together. How does that play out for season 9? More keeping secrets? More crime solving apart and then what? If they are demanding more money then they will have to explain the trends in ratings and what they can do to turn things around."
