Nadal pushes for personal war vs. Bachelot

Nadal apparently hasn't moved on yet from the allegation hurled at him by former French Minister of Sports Roselyn Bachelot. Yep, he's furious about the minister's action, but he stressed that should not be enough to fan the flames of war between Spain and France.

After pulling off arguably his best comeback performance for quite some time against rising star Alexander Zverev in the fourth round of Indian Wells Open, the 29-year old Nadal went on to blast Bachelot for her defaming remarks against him.

Nadal, who captured nine French Open titles in his career, admitted Bachelot's comments angered him, although involving France in his personal war would be unfair for the country that supported him throughout the years.

'I do not want to create, because of the unfortunate words by a lady, a war between France and Spain. To be honest I love France; I love the country where I have been most successful in (my) career. They have always treated me very well there. For the fact that a person or someone said unfortunate words, we will not go against a country that has treated me well.'

Flag Bearer for Olympics?

With the Rio Olympics approaching, Spain hasn't decided yet who's going to be the flag bearer in the opening ceremony. Nadal, who is considered one of the candidates for the honor, said he's be very much willing to hold Spain's flag. On the other hand, he's aware there are other great sportsmen in his country deserving to get that nod. Nadal missed the London Olympics in 2012 due to a knee injury.
