According to OppTrends, Google released an Over-The-Air (OTA) update for all devices running on Android N developer preview. The publication indicates that the update is meant to improve the performance of the devices, and it will be available only for the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and 4G smartphones.

Although the first update has been released earlier than expected, Google mentioned that it has plans to release newer versions of Android N in the next four to six weeks. Eventually, the plans of Google to enable developers to publish apps to devices running on the developer preview could be timely.

One of these features is the Multi-window mode, which brings the functionality available on some Samsung and LG devices to Android N gadgets, according to Android Pit. The publication noted that a new notifications panel could be available with the new Android OS.

Android N is still in the development stage, but the possible names for the upcoming OS are already a hot topic on the internet. Other names suggested for Android N include Noodles, Nachos, Nori, Nougat, and Neapolitan Ice Cream.

Google is also conducting online polls to finalize the name, with one asking users to fill in a "tasty food" that starts with N, while the other providing some options from which to choose. Meanwhile, Android N comes with a bunch of big features for users. Besides the multi-window multitasking mode, the refreshed notification and quick settings, and the new UI customization option, Android N will feature ART JIT and quick settings API.
