It has only been one month since "Tik Tok" singer Kesha's legal battle against producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald first made rounds in the headlines. The battle is still not over as the singer-songwriter continues to seek freedom by filing an appeal against New York City Supreme Court Judge's decision.

In February, Judge Shirley Kornreich denied the preliminary injunction. It would have released the pop star from her contract with the mega-hit producer, whom she accused of rape and abuse.

"You're asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Kornreich as saying while speaking to the singer's lawyers amid the court hearing. "I don't understand why I have to take the extraordinary measure of granting an injunction."

Kesha's legal team, on the other hand, disputed the judge's ruling and said that she was wrong when she said that the decision would cause "no irreparable harm" to the singer's career, pointing out that compelling Kesha to execute the rest of the agreement is akin to modern-day slavery.

Apparently, the singer has been out of the limelight for quite a while due to the standoff and the lack of her ability to record music free of Dr. Luke's influence, which puts her music career in limbo.

Hence, Kesha's attorney Mark Geragos expressed that the injunction denial is apparently destroying the singer's chance of maintaining her music career, adding that the singer has already submitted an affidavit in support of her Motion for a Preliminary Injunction.

In a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Geragos said Kesha submitted affidavits by industry veterans. The statement claimed that each of the veterans "attested to the fact that a young star's fame will fade quickly, and permanently, due to a loss of momentum."

Dr. Luke has  denied the singer's accusations of rape and abuse, adding that the latter is just pushing for a more lucrative deal in her music career. Amid the clamor, Sony Music and Dr. Luke has yet to comment on the latest report.
