One-Punch Man anime series has pretty much unveiled the whole roster of class S heroes on Season 1, but there are few whose identity remains hidden in the dark. The most mysterious of all is the Heroes' Association no.1 ranked cape-crusader, the Hero named Blast.

For all we know so far, Blast is the strongest of all the Heroes (there's a reason why he's no.1 after all). But aside from his habit of skipping important meetings, no one really knows who the heck is this guy? Is he for real? Is he as strong as our favorite hero, Saitama?

But thanks to Easter eggs scattered all over the original web comic series, we might have a clue who Blast is. As a matter of fact, there's an intriguing theory out there that hypothetically identifies Blast and Saitama as one person. Yes, it's a crazy theory but these three reasons could back up a strong case that they are just the same character all along.

-One, the creator of One-Punch Man the web comic series, recently released an illustration of the hero Blast. While the hero's name has already mention a number of times in the series, this is the first time we have a picture of what Blast looks like. Although his face remains concealed for the purposes of keeping the story intriguing, Tatsumaki vividly remembers Blast wearing the same suit as Saitama. The only difference is the fiery contour around the zipper.

-Tatsumaki also disclosed that Blast shared the same mind-set as Saitama. He's saving people and protecting earth from monsters for neither money nor fame. He treats it more like a hobby.

-The name Blast could be just a place-holder, a title given to the no.1 hero in the Association. And there's an argument that Blast is no other than Saitama, who by the way inspired the creation of Heroes' Association from the start after saving the child with a cleft-chin (who turns out to be the grandchild of a billionaire founder of Heroes' Association) from Crabrante.

It would be really awesome to know in the end that Saitama is Blast all along. However for some reason, this theory isn't bulletproof. Based on Tatsumaki's story, her close encounter with Blast happened 18 years ago when the hero saved her from a monster and afterwards encouraged her to use her ESP power in times of danger.

One-Punch Man Season 2 is currently in production and is targeting a release late 2016 or mid-2017. According to several media outlets, the new season will feature new villains, the Hero-Hunter Gorou and Amai Sweet Mask (non-cannon).
