Being one of the hottest k-pop idols in the industry, Lee rose to the music scene after winning the second place in SBS's "K-pop Star" season 1 in 2011 and eventually joined YG Entertainment. As a solo artist, Lee released her debut album in 2013 and reportedly decided to go on a hiatus.

Being out of the spotlight for three long years, Lee reportedly felt anxious to come back, considering that there is a high chance that her fans would not be there to support her. She also said that dealing with many thoughts have also contributed to her feeling being on edge.

"The mass public might think that I was developed during the time that has passed," said Lee during an interview with BNT News. "I worried about how I can satisfy their expectation in a good way." The teenage star added that the public will most likely expect more as much as the time they have held up.

However, it seems like the anxiousness was gone from her hand. Lee found strength in a reliable source to simply overcome everything - her mother, who reportedly listened to all of her troubles and issues.

According to Lee, the past three years gives her an adequate span of time to explore her writing and singing skills more. In addition, the singer reportedly wants to make her own song that contains a deep sympathy, melody, and lyrics while keeping her unique color at the same time.

The singer also discussed balancing her need and the fan expectations in coming up with the said comeback album, adding that she reportedly thought about doing something different and try out various genres amid the album production. However, she must continue with what the fans like.

"That is why there are lots of different musical genres on the new album," she added. "I received lots of love [for 'Seoulite']. It was more than I could have expected."

In fact, Lee's comeback album, "Seoulite," holds the third spot in the current week's ranking and has managed to maintain the number one spot for the highest ranking debut on Billboard's World Albums Chart. Check out the official music video of Lee's "Breathe" below:
