However, executive producer Michael Jacobs said that "Girl Meets World" season 3 will continue to have wholesome storylines because their primary target audiences are children and teenagers.

Meanwhile, according to Cartermatt, there is an ongoing debate as to whether or not "Girl Meets World" should be picked up by Freeform starting season 3.

Freeform was formerly known as ABC Family, an underarm of ABC network, and is one that is known for producing equally wholesome shows that are aimed at promoting certain ideologies.

For instance, Freeform airs "The Fosters" which is a show centered on a family. However, the show also tackles real-life issues such as same-sex marriage, same-sex relationships and the like.

The publication claimed that moving "Girl Meets World" to Freeform may also be good for the network because the show receives good ratings week in and week out.

On the contrary, the move may also not be possible because it is highly likely that Disney Channel won't let go of a show that's as good as "Girl Meets World."

In other news, the upcoming third season of "Girl Meets World" will focus on more storylines for Riley and her friends.

On Twitter, the writers of the show revealed that season 3 will be centered on the theme of feelings.

"And that's our season of growth. Next: A season of feelings, how they affect us, how we learn to control them, or not. Thanks for watching."

"Girl Meets World" season 3 will premiere on Disney Channel sometime this year.
