While most celebrities use social media to express and share their daily life experiences to their fans, Robert Pattinson and Theo James think otherwise. Both actors confessed that they have tried searching their names on the Internet but have avoided to joining to any social networking site.
Pattinson revealed to Inside Toronto that he thought of signing up on Twitter. However, the "Twilight" actor has resisted since he is frightened he would get obsessed and spend too much time on it.
"Sometimes I think I would like to have a Twitter account. But I know I would spend too much time on it," Pattinson said. "I would lose myself in it all night long. I really hope to avoid this kind of life (spent on social media). It is the reason why I don't sign up."
Moreover, Pattinson claimed that he sometimes regrets surfing the Internet whenever he reads negative things about him. Hence, the actor said that signing up to any social media site could definitely not help as he has a lot of insecurities and he usually end up believing what is written on the Internet.
Pattinson has been a favorite subject of nasty rumors lately such as his impending wedding with fiancé FKA Twigs and his alleged relationship with Nicole Kidman. However, despite this, he never had the urge to comment.
James, for his part, said that he does not think he is among those stars who likes to share about their personal lives to their fans. While social media could be a good means of communication, the "Divergent" actor said to Flaunt Magazine that he does not like the idea that everyone's perception about you could change in just one slip-up.
When asked as to why he does not have Twitter and Instagram accounts, James bluntly said that it is not just for him. "If I post a picture of us having a drink now and get loads of views or comments and stuff, then suddenly you're quite exposed and you're in a world of work. I just like being present," he added.
In other news, James is set to appear on several upcoming movies, which include "Underworld: Next Generation," "Backstabbing for Beginners" and "War on Everyone." Pattinson, on the other hand, will star in "The Lost City of Z" and "Good Time."
