"The Vampire Diaries" cast member Kat Graham recently announced her departure from the hit The CW show after eight seasons.

Just a few weeks ago, the network confirmed that "The Vampire Diaries" will be renewed for season 8. This means Graham's character Bonnie will only be seen until the end of season 8.

If The CW decides to renew "The Vampire Diaries" for season 9, Graham will no longer be on board.

In an interview with US Weekly, the actress said, "Season 8 will be my last. I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we'll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go because we're a family."

Meanwhile, Graham also talked about her character Bonnie and what's in store for her in the upcoming episodes.

"There's some really intense stuff with my character this season. I think the biggest episodes I've ever had are 20 and 21. It's pretty major for the character - huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool sh*t," she said.

In other news, there are rumors that "The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev was the one who convinced Graham to exit the franchise.

Previous episodes revealed that if Bonnie will be killed off, Dobrev's character Elena Gilbert will live once again.

In a previous interview with TV Line, Plec said that she is hoping Dobrev will be open to the idea of returning to "The Vampire Diaries" even just for the final episode.

After all, the exec said that the character still has a lot of unexplored storylines that are waiting to be told.

"There is still a chapter of Elena's story left to be told... I'll take Dobrev for whatever she's willing to do to tell that story," she said.

If Bonnie will be killed off, and this will be reason for her character's departure, then there's a huge positively that what Plec is hoping for may come true.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
