“Vikings” season 4 returns with an all-new episode this Thursday, April 7 with “Portgage.” The latest spoilers and official synopsis revealed that episode 8 will focus on what will happen next following the defeat of King Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and King Harald's possible takeover of the throne.
According to Zap2It, Ragnar will eventually come up with an ingenious plan that will eventually destroy Paris. While viewers have yet to find out what his plans are, multiple reports speculate that Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) will eventually lend a hand to Ragnar after the latter saved his life in episode 7.
Meanwhile, while Rollo (Clive Standen) definitely came out victorious in the last episode, it seems that he is not at all content with the outcome.
"As long as my brother is alive, he is not defeated," Rollo told Emperor Charles in the promo clip.
In the last episode of "Vikings" season 4, titled "The Profit and the Loss," many of the Viking warriors were slaughtered after they failed to penetrate the defense that Ragnar's brother had built for Paris. As reported by Christian Post, half a dozen boats were set on fire, losing more lives in the process.
Many of the Vikings were also killed by volleys of bolt, which also almost got Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). She was assigned to scale up one of the towers and attempt to take down the guards manning it. Unfortunately, Rollo was able to anticipate their move and most of her forces were wiped out. She almost barely made it out alive.
In the promo for "Vikings" season 4 episode 8, King Harald (Peter Franzen) was less than thrilled when he heard about Rollo's plan failing.
"Someone is always responsible for failure," he told Lagertha.
According to International Business Times, King Harald always had his eyes set on Ragnar's throne since he came to Kattegat. The outlet pointed out that this may eventually end up to be the perfect opportunity for him to snag the throne from Ragnar and take over the Vikings.
