The video opened with a first look at the film's new female hero Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). From there viewers learned a little bit more about the character. The trailer revealed her criminal background, which include resisting arrest, forgery of Imperial documents, aggravated assault and possession of stolen property. She is also described as "reckless, aggressive, and undisciplined."

Perhaps these traits are what led her to join the rebellion. A scene in the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" teaser revealed her alliance with the Rebel fighters in their fight against the Empire. Erso is up in arms with Diego Luna's character as they fought off the Stormtroopers.

She is also sent out on a dangerous mission that involves infiltrating the enemy base in order to procure details about the enemy's powerful weapon; the Death Star. However, the rebels will have to fight off the Imperial army along the way. The preview teased there will be deadly consequences, including death and the arrest of some rebels, just to succeed in the mission.

Another new character is also glimpsed in the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" teaser. According to Cinema Blend, the black Stormtroopers were not in the original George Lucas "Star Wars" trilogy. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" also featured white Stormtroopers. The publication claimed these black Stormtroopers must be the "Death Troopers."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" reportedly takes place before the events of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." So naturally, Darth Vader is still alive. The teaser gave a brief glimpse at the cloaked villain with his royal guards at the 1:18 mark in the video below.

It has been reported that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is about a group of rebels who are tasked to steal the plans of the Death Star. The teaser definitely proved that the film's storyline will somehow revolve around this mission.
