Most recent reports noted that the "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki may pay another visit to SBS' "Running Man," as the long-running variety TV show is working to pull off Song's possible return.

The show's producer, Jung Chul Min, recently discussed the possibility of Song's return to the show, stating that if the actor appeared, a lot of interesting things would seemingly happen.

"But Joong Ki's guarantee has changed a lot from the past," he quipped. "I wonder how much he would expect in appearance fees," Soompi quoted producer Jung as saying.

The 30-year-old actor is one of the original members of "Running Man." He was introduced along with Gary and Lee Kwang-Soo, as one of the "variety rookies" because of his lack of experience on variety shows.

During his stay, actor Song won the hearts of the audiences with his fierce competitiveness in figuring out puzzles and strategies amid the show's race mission. However, he decided to leave the program to concentrate more on his acting career in April 2011.

Now, PD Jung looks back on the early years of the on-going variety show, where he said that he is the youngest member of the directing team while Song and Lee were the youngest of the regular cast members.

"I remember all of us holding water bottles and following our seniors around. Now, one of them is 'Asia's Prince' and the other is a huge Hallyu star," Jung added.

Although no additional information was revealed, PD Jung added that the possibility of Song's return to the show is always there. The said Hallyu star, on the other hand, had said himself that "Running Man" is like a hometown to him and that he would appear on the show any time if there was an opportunity.

The said South Korean actor plays the male lead character in the megahit "Descendants of the Sun." The said drama tells the story of doctors stationed in the anecdotal war zone of Urk (Uruk).

It takes over the love story that develops between a surgeon, Dr. Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) and Captain Yoo Shi Jin of the Alpha Team, both elite in their respective fields. The story will track both their personal and professional battles while exploring issues about the value of life.

Due to its unique plot, the drama's popularity continues to soar high with its previous episode 14 marking the highest 35.6 percent ratings in viewership ranking, according to AGB Nielson.
