With "Star Wars: Episode VIII" still in production, some new updates about the film have been making the rounds online. A set photo somehow confirmed rumors of the Jedi Temple being featured in the sequel, and movie director Rian Johnson recently revealed that C-3PO loses his red arm in the movie.
In "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" C-3PO sported a red left arm. So it is just natural for fans to wonder if he would have the same limb in the sequel. Johnson answered a fan's question about C-3PO's arm on Twitter. He tweeted that C-3PO got his normal arm back in the film.
C-3PO already lost his red arm at the end of the J.J. Abrams' film. He got his normal arm back. It is just likely for C-3PO to have his regular arm back in the sequel, since the film takes place after the events in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Meanwhile, a set photo taken from the Cean Sibéal, Co Kerry filming of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" hinted the Jedi Temple will be featured in the movie. The Irish Examiner shared a photo of what appeared to be the huts used by the first Jedi. These huts were briefly glimpsed at the end of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" when Rey (Daisy Ridley) met Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and handed him his lightsaber.
The Ceann Sibéal area will reportedly be transformed to represent Skellig Michael Island, where Luke supposedly went into self-exile following the events of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi." Other set photos shared by the publication revealed the roadway has been layered with metal and more Jedi huts are still being constructed.
The presence of these beehive huts hinted the first Jedi Temple will be featured in "Star Wars: Episode VIII." In the "Star Wars" lore the huts represent the location of where the first Jedi Temple was created. It is where the first Jedi lived during his self-exile and in this case where Luke Skywalker hid himself before Rey found him.
A source previously told Star Wars News that a Jedi Monastery was created for one of Luke Skywalker's scenes in "Star Wars: Episode VIII." This scene supposedly used rain and wind machines. However, at that time this monastery was created at Skellig Michael Island so it is uncertain if this scene will actually play out in the movie.
