People are often told that the consumption of whole-fat dairies is not that good for the health. However, the latest study reveals that this food group, especially whole-fat milk, is actually beneficial and could even be helpful in lowering the risk of type two diabetes.

Moreover, the dietary guidelines released by health officials have made everyone to believe that skim milk is the healthier option compared to regular milk. In addition, schools have rarely serve full-fat milk in the cafeteria and gave out either low-fat or non-fat dairies to students due to the dietary recommendations.

Then again, it appears that this recommendation is not right as researchers' new study revealed that individuals who opted for whole-fat dairies had lesser chance of developing diabetes as opposed to those who did not. This finding was published on the American Heart Association Circualtions Journal where it was stated that the risk of diabetes is 50 percent lower than people who go for low-fat dairies.

Dariush Mozaffarian, the lead author of the research, believe that there is a need to review the dietary recommendations because there is no scientific proof that confirms the fact that full-fat milk are not good for the body and low-fat ones are better. "There is no prospective human evidence that people who eat low-fat dairy do better than people who eat whole-fat dairy," he said.

Furthermore, in another study publicized in the American Journal of Nutrition, it was discovered that full-fat dairies have positive effects on weight loss as well. The experts have examined the impacts of both whole-fat and low-fat milk on obese people and they observed that from among the 18,438 women who participated in the study, those who prefer full-fat milk have increase their chance of losing excess weight by as much as eight percent.

Finally, while the researchers do not exactly know how the full-fat dairy products are helping in lowering the risk for diabetes and weight loss, they said that it is possible that the fat in the products is working in some ways to regulate glucose and insulin. As for obesity, since high fat dairies already provide enough calories, the person will not feel feel hungry to crave for additional calories by eating more food.
