Bob Arum, Manny Paquiao's promoter, reportedly is being optimistic about the most anticipated mega-fight deal between US fighter Floyd Mayweather and Filipino super-fighter Manny Paquiao, who has recently said he can easily beat Mayweather.

Arum is currently negotiating the contract's final details for the welterweight showdown penned tentatively in Las Vegas on May 2, the New York Post said on Jan. 30.

"The issues are now being narrowed down to extraordinarily small details," Arum shared with the post.

"I am optimistic that everything will be finalize in the next couple of days," the promoter added.

Mayweather has previously released a statement that he will never fight with Pacquiao for as long as Arum is his promoter because of a dispute some years ago.

Blood test issues have helped resolve the problem five years ago, but right after the NBA game where both players accidentally met in Miami, the expected biggest-money-spinner-ever appears close to reality.

After the Miami Heat game earlier this week, Pacquaio and Mayweather spent almost an hour in the Filipino south-paw's hotel suite talking about the possible ring match.

"I think it helped a lot because we were all putting papers together, and there was still a question as to whether Floyd really wanted to do the fight or not," said Arum.

"Based on the meeting with Pacquiao in the hotel suite, Manny and his adviser Michael Koncz were convinced Floyd absolutely wants to do the fight," the Top Rank CEO added.

Pacquaio has been making "call-out" posts for Mayweather, the latest on Twitter where he wrote, "I can easily beat @Floyd Mayweather, I believe that."
