It was anticipated by the fans that the sequel for the "Boruto Naruto the Movie" would be out later this year, but it seems that this is no longer possible.

The "Boruto Naruto the Movie" was a blockbuster hit in 2015. In fact, a lot of rumors came out stating that the sequel of the movie is already in the works; however, recent news leads to the opposite road, because it was hinted that "Boruto Naruto the Movie 2" has been cancelled by the management, Cross Map reported.

It is said that the cancellation of "Boruto Naruto the Movie 2" may be because the franchise has other commitments, which include its current development for "The True Legend of Itachi," as well as its commitment for the "Boruto Naruto" manga series, Christian Post reported. The "Boruto" manga, which will be out on May 9, will focus on Naruto's son, Boruto. In the series, Naruto will fill a more mature role, being a father of very promising ninja.

It has been reported that the assistant artist for "Naruto," Mikio Ikemoto, will be the head artist for the "Boruto Naruto" manga. Although this will be the case for the series, the creator and original artist, Masashi Kishimoto, is said to supervise his apprentice, may be to ensure the manga's success.

Among the mysteries that fans should watch out for in the upcoming manga version of "Boruto Naruto" is the inclusion of Mitsuki, who is Orochimaru's son. The character remains a mystery because there have been very few details about him, other than he is known to be an antagonist's offspring. As a matter of fact, no one knows where Mitsuki came from or who his mother is.

Perhaps, fans should just wait until "Boruto" manga is out by May 9 in order to acquire clues about this mysterious character. It has been confirmed that the manga version of "Boruto" will be updated on a monthly basis.

Nevertheless, it would be very pleasing for the fans if the franchise would decide to make a second installment for "Boruto Naruto the Movie" after the "Itachi" films.
