In a video posted on his official Facebook page, the director said he would like to see Kang and Annihilus. He said he would not add Ben Grimm to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" team even if the character belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Gunn also talked about his interest to play with the cosmic characters and villains, that are unfortunately, owned by Fox. As for the "Fantastic Four" characters, Gunn said he and Marvel would love to have them in the MCU. That is, if Fox would allow, or if they transfer the ownership of these characters to the MCU.

The director also updated fans about the production on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in the same live chat. He said the sequel is bound to be funny like the first film. They are also halfway through with production, with filming anticipated to end in June. As for post-production, Gunn said he is not certain how long it would take.

One of the most-anticipated reveal in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is the identity of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord's father. Gunn had mentioned in previous interviews that the movie will not follow after the comic book's storyline. This means Star-Lord's father is not J'son. However, the director assured during his Q&A, that the sequel will indeed reveal Peter Quill's dad.

Kurt Russel is rumored to be playing the role of Star-Lords father, according to Variety. However, Gunn and the actor himself have remained mum about his identity. It is unknown yet if Star-Lord's father is someone important in the Marvel Universe. This is something that fans would have to find out for themselves, when "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opens in the U.S. on May 5, 2017.
