It was not so long ago when Remedy Entertainment has released the "Quantum Break" video game in April 5, 2016. Given this information, it may not be the "Quantum Break" that Remedy has been working on for the past 9 months. This led to speculations that the mysterious game might be a sequel for the action-adventure horror third person shooter game, "Alan Wake," which was released 6 years ago. It is said that there is a chance that the mysterious game could be the much anticipated "Alan Wake 2."

The claim might also be supported by the report of IGN. In the report, Remedy Entertainment's creative director Sam Lake said that he is indeed interested in the sequel of the "Alan Wake." However, it seems that the video game company was not able to provide a sequel for the game for years, and that Remedy pursued other pitches instead of developing the "Alan Wake 2."

On the other hand, there has been no confirmation yet on the side of Remedy Entertainment regarding on the rumored "Alan Wake 2" being secretly developed. In spite of this, fans are still predicting that the unannounced game might be the sequel of the horror third person shooter game. Perhaps, in the coming weeks or a in a couple of months, Remedy would finally release a statement with regards to the mysterious game that it has been developing for the last 9 months.

For reference, Remedy Entertainment's newly released "Quantum Break" is both available for Xbox One and PC, while the "Alan Wake" 2010 video game is playable on Xbox 360.
