Rumors concerning Google Nexus 2016 suggest that HTC will be the manufacturer of 2016 Nexus smartphones. Early assumptions already indicate that the imminent HTC Nexus phone could become one of the best Nexus smartphones ever.

For the most part, this is because the freshly launched HTC 10 is already receiving glowing reviews from critics. They believe that a HTC-Google partnership will produce a high-end flagship device that is capable of standing above the most terrific smartphones of 2016.

A concept model of the Nexus smartphone entirely based on the HTC flagship was also posted on Reddit. The mockup shows a missing fingerprint reader on the home button, but one that is present just below the rear camera.

It is notable that both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P have their fingerprint readers at the same position. Similar to HTC 10, the Nexus concept model includes dual speakers at the front panels and a metallic chassis that sports chamfered edges at the back.

Even with the new Nexus concept model stirring some excitement among Reddit users and fans, reports claim that manufacturers are reportedly getting too involved with Nexus devices, something that Google does not want. Rather, it is maintained that the company wants more control over the design of its Nexus flagship.

All the same, it seems that HTC has a high possibility of securing the future of new Nexus phones. According to Android Central, there are several logical reasons why HTC would like to take control of the production of Nexus devices.

To begin with, HTC has been lately moving towards a partner-centered approach across its business fields. One confirmation of this is its partnership with Valve, which has come with the fruits of Vive, a HTC's VR endeavor. In the smartphone world, the first likely partner is Google.

Another reason is the fact that Nexus appears to be a niche brand, which HTC is also a part of. In other words, both HTC and Nexus are niche brands and, therefore, a partnership between the two Tech giants could see each other grow.

As for the rumors going round, time will tell if HTC's relationship with Google will ultimately bear fruits of a HTC Google Nexus.
