Beginning May 5, "Naruto Shippūden" will be entering a new major saga called the "Kaguya - Final Showdown Arc," and to tease fans worldwide, a new key visual image has just been unveiled.

Earlier today, Tokyo TV's official Japanese website for "Naruto Shippūden" unveiled the new key visual that teases on what to expect in the upcoming saga. It features the show's main character such as Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Kakashi Hatake.

According to the combined 21st and the 22nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, "Naruto Shippūden" anime TV series' returns to canon in May and will continue the main storyline in view of its original manga. The new saga will kick off with episode 459 titled as "The Incipient," where it ran in the original source manga from chapter 678 and ended in 699.

The upcoming arc introduces the alien Princess Kaguya Otsutsuki and her ensuing attempt to take over the ninja universe. Known as the strongest chakra user and the final villain in the series, Princess Kaguya has a belief that chakra should belong to her alone, which made her somewhat obsessive in retrieving it from everyone else.

Aside from that, it will also be the debut of the new opening theme song titled "Blood Circulator" by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. With this new revelation, fans worldwide will finally see Naruto and Sasuke, as they take on the Six Paths Madara.

Meanwhile, a stage play adaptation of the most acclaimed manga has been green-lit. It is a part of the on-going "Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project," marking the 15th anniversary of the original manga, Anime News Network has learned.

The production will run from July 30 to August 7 at the Umeda Arts Theaters in Osaka, Japan and August 13-28 at the AiiA Theater Tokyo. With director Akiko Kodama at the helm, the production includes drama, dance, songs, and acrobatics - covering the story from the first to the 27th volume of the original manga.
