Karen Fukuhara, who plays Katana in "Suicide Squad," revealed details about her character's abilities in an interview earlier this month. The actress also revealed some of her scenes in the movie and talked briefly about Katana's sword - the Soul Taker.

Fukuhara was asked for more details about her character in "Suicide Squad" while on the red carpet at this month's CinemaCon event in Las Vegas. According to Comicbook, the actress described Katana-- otherwise known as Tatsu Yamashiro--as a fierce warrior and a protector, who gets tasked to keep a close eye on her rowdy squad members. She makes sure to keep them away from trouble as much as possible.

The actress also revealed that Katana's sword, the Soul Taker, possesses special powers. Fukuhara said it contains the soul of Katana's husband Maseo. The sword allows Katana to talk to him throughout the movie.

According to Screenrant, the Soul Taker does not only contain Maseo's soul. It also stores all the souls of the people that Katana killed using the sword. However, Fukuhara did not reveal how much of the Soul Taker's powers will be revealed in the movie.

In the same interview, the actress also talked about Katana's loyalties. She said her character is very loyal to Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) and to Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), who is the head of the "Suicide Squad."

The trailers released for "Suicide Squad" showed Fukuhara in several action scenes. One would think these sequences proved very difficult for the martial arts champion to perform. However, she told the publication that it was actually a breeze doing her action stunts, because she already learned all the stunt choreography during pre-production. She credited her amazing stunt coordinator and stunt double for helping her perform her own stunts during production.

"I was able to do all of my own stunts except for one dive role, but all of my stunts. So, yeah, I got to run on top of a car, I did all of my sword work," Fukuhara said in her interview.

"Suicide Squad" marks Katana's debut in the DC Cinematic Universe. It is still unknown if the character will appear in future DC films, since it has been rumored that she stabs herself with the Soul Taker in the movie.
