"Scorpion" season 3 will eventually reveal who Happy's (Jadyn Wong) legal husband is.

In the finale episode for season 2, Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) proposed to Happy, but the latter said no because she was still married to someone else.

Toby was devastated because it took him a while to gather up the courage to try and take then next step with Happy.

In an interview with TV Line, co-executive producers Nick Wootton and Nick Santora dished on what will happen to the couple in the upcoming installment.

"We knew at the beginning of the season that we wanted him to propose. We were talking about that last summer, and we knew we wanted to arc it out to the end of the season. But we didn't know that Happy was going to be married to someone else until January," Santora said.

The execs also talked about their decision to make it seem as though Mark Collins had an idea that Happy wouldn't say yes to Toby. When Mark kidnapped Toby in the finale episode, he hinted at a major reason why he believed Happy won't accept Toby's proposal.

According to Wootton, Mark is fully aware that Happy is married to someone else. After all, he was also a member of Team Scorpion before.

"Yes, we're saying that he knows the answer. It's the fun of that character. He's a great lunatic, but he's also a part of this early Scorpion mythology that we don't get into that much. He was there from the beginning, so he can give us insight into what they were up to before the show caught up with them," Wootton explained.

In other news, the execs also talked about Walter (Elyes Gabel) and Paige's (Katharine McPhee) future on the show.

According to Santora, Waige's story will continue to flourish in season 3. However, whether or not they will actually become a couple is something that they haven't decided on just yet.

Santora also hinted on the possibility of the two characters dating other people. However, he said that Waige's story will always be a part of the show.

"Scorpion" season 3 will premiere on CBS in the next couple of months.
