Although there has been no confirmation coming from Disney, speculations about the film are still surfacing, giving fans of Mia Thermopolis, played by Anne Hathaway, some hope that their favorite royal movie is getting a third installment.

The rumor about "Princess Diaries 3" sparked after Garry Marshall, who directed the previous "Princess Diaries" movies, stated in his interview with E! News that negotiations are on the table, and that Disney would announce the long awaited third part of the franchise.

Reports are also saying that Hathaway, who played the lead role in the previous installments, is interested to play Mia again in "Princess Diaries 3." If this is true, then there is indeed a possibility that the film would be made.

It can be remembered that playing Mia opened several doors in Hollywood for Hathaway, which later on gave her the film that led to her Academy Award.

In addition to "Princess Diaries 3," Marshall said in the "Larry King Now" show that he talked to Julie Andrews about the film. Andrews played Hathaway's royal grandmother, basically the queen in the first movie, and then handed off her crown to her heir, Mia in the second film.

The "Princess Diaries" movie series was a massive hit to the audience, as the first film focused on Mia as a normal teenager who eventually found out that she is a princess in a little country within Genovia, while the second installment was all about the royal engagement.

Meanwhile, it seems that Robert Schwartzman would love to reprise his role, after he was absent in the second film and being replaced by Chris Pine's character Nicholas as Hathaway's love interest in the "Royal Engagement" sequel. The actor revealed his interest to join the cast of "Princess Diaries 3" upon his interview with Glamour magazine.
