The Huawei-built Google Nexus 6P is one of the smartphones that impressed the industry in 2015, as it packs an amazing rear-facing camera and an array of specs like a 3GB RAM 128GB internal storage and a Snapdragon 810 chip in a matte gold or aluminum metallic premium device. Now, a seemingly new Nexus 6P variant has been spotted and it is said to have a Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and the upcoming Android N.

This year's Google Nexus is rumored to be built by HTC which is said to be looking at a 7P as a deserving successor of 6P. There is less leaked information so far and tech observers are not sure if the Nexus 6P will get another variant. However, what was spotted might be the one next in the pipeline, according to Phone Arena.

An upgraded Nexus 6P run by Android N could be the next flagship to come out this year. There is also the possibility that the specs are for the upcoming Nexus device, which is seen packing a quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 1.59 GHz, paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processor and a 4GB RAM.

When it comes to performance, the device scored 2115 and 4903 points in single and multi core tests. The motherboard section of the device references Marlin, according to Geek Bench.

The codename Marlin is a moniker associated with one of the next Nexus handsets. Google could also be testing the Nexus 6P with the recent specs installed in it.

As Nexus 6P is one of the best phablets currently in the market now, Nexus fans can just be excited about Google's next offering. Nexus 6P was launched with the 5X handset in September 2015 but unlike the latter that is plastic built, it has a metal body with a glass strip on its rear to hold the camera and the LED flash.

The current Nexus 6P sports a 5.7-inch quad high definition display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and a 3450mAh battery that supports quick charging. It comes in different internal storage options and is pre-installed with Android 6 Marshmallow.

Google's phablet features a 12.3MP primary camera that can record videos in slow motion and 4K. It also has a front-facing 8MP snapper with 4/2.4 aperture for selfies.
