Rumors afloat that Moto Droid Turbo 3 release is coming in October.

It seems that Motorola is trying its hands again in the smartphone market. According to Geek Snack, the rumor is prompted by a tip from tipster Evan Blass in his @evleaks Twitter handle. He tweeted that new generations of Droid Turbo and Droid Maxx are coming this year. This is most likely to happen since Moto Droid Turbo and Turbo 2 were launch in October 2014 and 2015, respectively.

However, there could be a chance that the device will be either delayed or scheduled for earlier release with the reorganization happening in Lenovo. Lenovo loses its spot as one of the top Chinese smartphone makers over Huawei and Oppo.

Moreover, the smartphone will most likely try to avoid smartphone juggernauts coming in the fall - iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Note 6, and Google Nexus 2016.

If rumors proved to be true, Moto Droid Turbo 3 is speculated to follow the footsteps of its predecessor being a rugged smartphone. Motorola Mobility is reportedly picking up new materials stronger than Kevlar (if there is one).

Moto Droid Turbo 3 is purportedly comes with shatterproof and scratchproof screen. The handset is waterproof and shockproof. Basically, the smartphone is a sturdy device for the most active users.

While the hardware specs and features of the handset is still a mystery, reports say that Moto Droid Turbo 3 will come with the following specifications:

  • 5.5 inch, Quad HD screen display
  • Snapdragon 820 SoC
  • 6GB RAM
  • Up to 128GB internal storage
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • USB Type-C connection
  • 16MP back camera; 8MP front-facing camera
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • 4,500mAh battery life

However, this all should be taken as a grain of salt as Motorola has not announced anything yet.
