Apple released Photos today to finally replace iPhoto to registered developers. Photos are to be released officially in the later part of the year and will be offered to OS X Yosemite users for free, as announced by Apple in 2014, Computer World reported.

The 13-year-old iPhoto app is being replaced by a new one called Photos, where users can easily connect to iCloud and change awkward interface.

Apple also unveiled the desktop version of the Photos application software that lets the user manage their pictures. The Photos app replaces iPhotos, and will need to access the iCloud Photo Library to sync up to the desktop, to iPad, iPhone pictures and videos. This means that once accessed and edited on one device, it updates and will instantly be available to access from another gadget or from Photos on the user's Mac desktop.

The looks of the application is manageable, the navigation toolbar at the top which lets the user switch between views, and access the Project icon where cards, calendar, and books can be created which were available in iPhoto. Built-in editing tools are also available, one-click enhancement and smart gliders, zooming capability to be able to see pictures on a closer mode, and options like exposure and saturation are also present, according to Tech Crunch.

Over all, Photos have the iPhoto capabilities and some new ones that makes it a handy tool for making amazing pictures. It also has the on-demand print services where users can create wonderful and customized gifts for family and friends.
