The romance between Taiwanese celebrities Xiu Jie Kai and Alyssa Chia is getting on to the next level as the actor revealed his plan to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year with the latter’s family.
According to China Entertainment News, "Desperately Loving You" actor Xiu Jie Kai plans on joining Chia's family in celebrating the Chinese New Year on Feb. 19 based on his statement at a charity even on Monday.
During the event, Jie Kai helped wrap dumplings with two young ladies who came from poor families.
According to the report, the 31-year-old actor became very sympathetic when he learned that the children and their families could only afford bread and noodles in cups as their meal for their reunion.
After noting this, the actor then called on his fellow celebrities to make generous donations to help put better food on the dining table of the needy families during the rare occasion.
Intrigued by his concern for the children, reporters then asked Jie Kai if his concern for the kids came from his passion for his girlfriend's daughter, Angelina Sun, who was more known by her family as "Wutong Mei."
In response, the actor laughed and said: "I've always liked children. There's no special reason."
Jie Kai even promised to give Hong Bao--a red packet or envelop that usually contains money that ends in an even digit for good luck--to Angelina as part of customs during the upcoming festivities, reports revealed.
Unnamed sources revealed that Jie Kai had been close with Alyssa's family, particularly her mother whom he lauded for her cooking. He even mentioned some of her recipes, such as braised snacks, chicken soup and stewed beef as some of his favorite dishes.
