Reeling club West Bromwich Albion FC (10-15-12, 42 points) will finish the current term taking on the challenge of contending squad Liverpool FC (16-10-11, 59 points) at the Hawthorns on Sunday, May 15th in a 2015-2016 Premier League season encounter.
West Brom had been on a downward spiral for several weeks now as they are winless in their last eight outings, dropping them to the 15th spot of the league table. Fortunately, they still ended up eight points above the bottom three relegation area, which means they will stay in the English first division competitions next term.
In their most recent match last Saturday, the Baggies settled to a 1-1 tie with fellow lowly team AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, as reported by BBC Sport.
Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondón broke the deadlock for manager Tony Pulis' men at the 16th minute to get the early upperhand in the contest.
They were able to protect the lead for most of the match until Boscombe's Scottish midfielder Matt Ritchie scored the equalizer with only eight minutes remaining before full time to salvage the draw and share a point in the overall standings.
West Brom and Bournemouth remained tied on points in the league table, but the former has a superior goal difference which made them land one spot above the latter in the standings.
Meanwhile, Liverpool also had a 1-1 draw with Chelsea FC at the Anfield on Wednesday, via SkySports.
The visitors netted the opening goal at the 32nd minute with a magnificent mazy run from midfielder Eden Hazard that saw him dribble past at least three Reds defenders before slotting in a goal against Simon Mignolet.
However, Jürgen Klopp's side was able to level the count during injury time, courtesy of a Christian Benteke rebound off an Asmir Begovic block of Sheyi Ojo's strike.
The draw was Liverpool's third winless effort in their last six matches which settled them at the eighth spot of the English top flight table, three points short of the final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.
The predicted result is a 2-1 decision for Liverpool.
