The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 founder's editions have been revealed and explained. The only feature that is present in this special edition that is not present in the regular issue of the latest video cards has also been revealed.
The popular video card company that produces one of the best PC graphics cards in the world has finally revealed the GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 founder's edition to the public. According to PCWorld, these cards would cost $700 or $100 more than the regular version's starting prices. The special versions of the two PC graphics cards are actually called Nvidia's reference cards.
The founder's edition of the new Nvidia PC graphics card actually only has one difference from the standard version, and that is the redesigned, angular aluminum shroud and cooling design. This edition will have the same vapor chamber cooler and blower fan as its predecessors, which were also reference edition cards. This edition also has an additional minor feature which is a backplate.
According to The Verge, there are two issues to the founder's edition of these two PC graphics cards. HardOCP Kyle Bennett said in a statement that the launch cards of the latest GeForce series will only be the founder's editions, which means buyers who want to buy one right away will have to pay the premium price.
The other issue of this particular edition is that there is no other additional feature that makes it different than the standard version. Buyers will pay $100 more than its regular price only for its redesign, the vapor chamber cooler, blower fan, and the backplate. These cards will have the same clock speed, and other specs with the regular ones.
The reference cards were known traditionally as the best overclocker video cards available. During the launch event of the two latest PC graphics cards of Nvidia, it showed the GTX 1080 running at 2.1GHz on air cooling. Overclockers are welcome to try their customizations on these video cards, but they will have to pay for a hefty price to own one.
The video card company's partners like EVGA, Asus, and Zotac will get the chance to make their own custom designs, and make overclock profiles with the advantage of no other features added to these latest video cards. PC enthusiasts will be expecting their own versions soon after the latest release.
