'House of Cards' Season 5: Doug Stampner and LeAnn's relationship works in Claire's favor?

Speculations are rife that Doug Stampner and LeAnn Harvey may have a romantic relationship in "House of Cards" Season 5. Claire Underwood will take full advantage of the situation to further her political prospects.

Harvey and Stampner started off at loggerheads but are progressing to a romantic relationship. Harvey will have the upper hand in the relationship and this fact will be exploited by the First Lady. Stampner is devoted to Harvey and this will cause him to lose his focus in having the President's back.

There are also rumors that the whole romantic drama may be orchestrated by the First Lady in order to blindside her husband. Besides, her assistant Harvey is privy to the former's plans and future ambitions.

Harvey seduces Stampner and makes sure that the First Lady's path to the Oval Office is bereft of any obstacles. In an interview to GQ Magazine, Harvey said that she is loving her role in the upcoming season.

Stampner is the right-hand man of Frank Underwood and he even offered his own liver to the President when the latter was shot. The former then killed a man so that the latter could easily get a liver.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Stampner said that he would happily lay down his life for the President. He said that If he knew that the President would be shot then he would have used his own body as a shield to protect the latter.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the President may be impeached thus paving a clear path for the First Lady to further her political ambitions. Some rumors also suggest that the First Lady is privy to all the President's secrets and she may use the info to lead him into a trap.

In "House of Cards" Season 4, the First Lady used her mother's death in a very strategic way to garner sympathetic vote. She is on the path to do the same with the President's bad health and low credibility.
