Apple is making fans guess what the MacBook Pro 2016 has under the hood but the leaked reports and rumors claim that it will feature a Skylake processor and a new keyboard.

The Cupertino-based tech giant still has to announce the MacBook Pro 2016 and confirm what will be its final specs. Their previous Retina MacBook lines delivered well but it is time for a new line of laptops from Apple.

There were two models of the laptops in 2015 with 13-inch and 15-inch screens. The iPhone 7 maker could still follow the same scheme but they could also release larger ones considering that people are starting to want more screen estate.

Under the hood, the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to sport the sixth generation Skylake processors from Intel, The Bitbag reported. It would make sense for the company to move up to the next generation as competitors have already launched notebooks and laptops with the new line of processors.

While there aren't any large performance leaps from the fifth to the sixth generation, the latter has better power efficiency that would make the notebook run longer in a single charge. Performance-wise, some improvements can still be expected.

The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 could also feature a new and improved version of their Butterfly mechanism keyboard, Forbes has learned. It could be tweaked more to make it thinner or have a larger surface area for the user to type on.

Apple already has a deal with Samsung to supply OLED screen panels for the company. However, there have been no confirmations yet on whether it will affect their notebooks too as reports claim that the new screens will only appear on the iPhone 8 in 2017.

Still, Apple could use LED backlighting for the MacBook Pro 2016 which will make it brighter and energy efficient. Coupled with the Skylake processor, the notebook would probably have several more hours of battery life available for the user.

Notebooks today are getting lighter and thinner. It could also be possible that the new MacBook will be lighter by a couple of pounds and thinner by a few millimeters compared to the last generation.

Apple is expected to announce the MacBook Pro 2016 at their upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference. Fans will have to wait to know if the notebook will be getting a new keyboard and the new Skylake processor.
