True to her name, Hope appears to be the only hope that will save the fallen Mikaelson brood. In the finale of "The Originals" Season 3, Hope's father, Klaus, made the ultimate sacrifice to save his siblings from eternal demise. But even so, all the original vampires have been rendered incapacitated, and now, Hayley and Hope is on a hunt for a cure to save them.
Given everything that happened in the Season 3 wrapper, the entire landscape for "The Originals" Season 4 will be completely different. In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Michael Narducci confirmed that Marcel will be the big bad villain in "The Originals" Season 4.
Davina's death brought out the worse in Marcel, and when she confronted the Mikaelsons' about it, he ended up getting killed. Marcel is now on a warpath, and with his newly acquired powers, there's no telling what he's grown capable of. But neverthelss, Marcel will still be the "same guy."
Narducci told TV Guide that Marcel will still play by his own code of honor. The only difference is that he's "stronger and more powerful."
"We're going to watch him take back his city and become king," Narducci revealed. The only challenge for Marcel now is avoiding the mistakes his figurative father Klaus made.
With the Mikaelsons' temporarily knocked out, Marcel is free to rule but perhaps not too long. Hayley and Hope carted out Elijah, Kol, Rebekah and Freya to find cures for their illness. The only thing keeping them alive for now is the sacrifice Klaus made after getting stabbed by the Tunde blade. The question now is who will save Klaus from his pain-induced coma, while his whereabouts still unknown.
"You should assume that the Mikaelsons are the ones that get Klaus out. Maybe there's some other person that's going to get Klaus out. Maybe Klaus will get himself out," Narducci teased. "Maybe someone is going to decide that there's a big problem in the world and Klaus Mikaelson is the only person that can help us deal with it."
Will this person be Klaus and Hayley's daughter Hope? After all, she has the perfect mix of Original vampire, royal werewolf and witch blood running in her veins. She is technically the only person strong enough to challenge Marcel.
There may or may not be a time jump in "The Originals" Season 4, so the next time we see Hope, she may already be all grown up.
"The Originals" Season 4 will return to The CW in 2017.
