"The Voice" recently crowned Alisan Porter from the team of Christina Aguilera as the Season 10 winner after a highly competitive season, marking a history in the show since it is the first time that a female coach has a winner.

Porter, who played the role of Curly Sue when she was 10-years-old, impressed the judges and the audience during the finale duet with Jennifer Nettles for the song "Unlove You."

She won over country singer Adam Wakefield, who ended up as a runner up while Hannah Huston and Laith Al-Saadi landed on third and fourth place, respectively, CNN reported.

Aguilera commented that the night was victorious for women because of their historic win. Prior to the beginning of the show, Aguilera said that she wants to break the curse and that this season's winner will come from a woman's team and apparently, she was right.

To recall, Porter's blind audition was notable when she sang Roy Orbison's "Blue Bayou," that didn't just made Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine turn their chairs but also moved them give her a standing ovation. They were even more fascinated after learning that she is Curly Sue.

"I have retired from Curly Sue I am now the girl who won The Voice! I've waited 30 something years," Porter said, according to People. To recall, she opened up about her struggles about alcohol during the blind auditions which is one moment in her life that made her stronger.

Porter gave emphasis that instead of going backward to her dark past, she needs to move forward. Her singing made her feel happy and blessed.

She was also elated that her dream to become a singer finally came true. She said that when she tried acting at 10-years-old, she wasn't that happy because she always wanted to be a singer. And now, after joining the team of Aguilera in the show, the mother-of-two's dream was realized.

Apart from the impressive performances of the contestants, the show is also star-studded with performances from former Voice coach CeeLo Green, Sia, Little Big Town, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Nettles, Joe Walsh, Zayn Malik and Alison Krauss.
