"The Originals" Season 3 finale ended with a major cliffhanger. Now, fans are curious about Season 4 and the fate of their favourite characters. Speculations are running rampant as the future of the Mikaelsons remains unknown. Here are some potential spoilers for the upcoming instalment of the series. In Season 3 finale, the prophecy came true. Despite Mikaelsons' efforts to stop the devastation, they ended up powerless and incapacitated. Freya, Klaus, Elijah, Kol and others become the victims of the prophecy and now their only hope is Hayley and baby Hope.
When "The Originals" Season 4 episode 1 goes on air, fans can expect to see the aftermath of the fallout. At the same time, in the absence of Klaus, Marcel tries to rise to prominence in the city.
As for Hayley, she is on the run with her daughter and has been tasked to find the cure and save the original vampires. In an interview with TV Guide, "The Originals" executive producer Michael Narducci previewed Season 4. According to the showrunner, the upcoming season is "packed with story potential." He suggested that after a "time cut, these sleeping giants are going awaken and they are not going to be happy. There's going to be a reunion of all these characters."
Narducci assures that Marcel is not the villain now that he has taken his revenge. "He's just stronger and more powerful. He will never have to back down from anyone ever again," Narducci said.
With Marcel taking the control of New Orleans, Vincent will act as a "sheriff." He will keep a check and do whatever it takes to keep his city protected even if it means to stand against Marcel.
In addition, Narducci teased a definite time jump between the end of Season 3 finale and beginning of "The Originals" Season 4. He revealed that when the show opens fans are going to see Marcel and Hayley trying to figure how to deal with their situations. While Marcel is supposed to take control of the city with new vampires, Hayley must keep herself safe and find a cure.
So when will "The Originals" Season 4 premiere? According to Julie Plec's blog on Entertainment Weekly, the premiere of the next season has been pushed further and episode 1 will not air before 2017. While The CW is yet to release an official airdate, it is said that Season 4 will debut anytime between January and April.
