After not being unveiled in the recent Google I/O event, another release date for Google's much-awaited flagship device is already making rounds lately. First rumored to be released in June, Google's Nexus 7 is now speculated to be launched by fourth quarter this year, most probably by October. It is also expected that a 3D touch-like functionality will be included in the upcoming device.

Although Google has been quite silent regarding on its release date, many believes the device will be released in October, following the launch date of previous year's Nexus. Other information suggests that two devices will be unveiled during this time.

According to popular tipster Evan Blass, two new Android N devices dubbed as S1 and M1 are already being worked on by Google, Tech News Today reported. Codenames S1 and M1 are believed to stand for Scailfish and Marlin as announced by Blass' Twitter account.

As for its highlight features and specifications, rumor has it that one of the two devices will be equipped with 3D touch-like functionality similar to iPhone 6S. In terms of display, both devices will be sporting large screen sizes like 5-inch and 5.5-inch display, the same report noted.

In another report by PC Advisor the Nexus 7 is expected to run on an Android N OS since the new operating system will be launched in August, powered either by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a external microsd of up to 2 TB.

Although other reports already hinted that the upcoming Nexus will sport a display screen playing between 5 inches to 6 inches, PC Advisor that the device may come in a 7-inch Quad HD display. The report also noted that the upcoming device may be another budget tablet that would not prie higher than £199.

As for the other in-depth details of Nexus 7, very little information regarding its specifications have been confirmed by Google. This may mean that fans still have to wait until the the last quarter of the year to get a hold of the device.
