"Empire" season 3 will continue to feature Freda (Bre-Z) in its upcoming episodes.
In season 2, Freda planned to shoot Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) after she found out that the latter was responsible for killing her father.
Unfortunately, Freda mistakenly pulled the trigger at Jamal (Jussie Smollett) which resulted in the latter getting into critical condition.
After undergoing surgery for his bullet wounds, Jamal got out of the hospital and told his entire family that he will stop making music until all of them patch their differences.
In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Ilene Chaiken confirmed that Bre-Z will still be part of "Empire" season 3 despite rumors that the character will not be seen because of her recent deed.
Chaiken added that Freda and Jamal will continue to have exciting scenes together, and the two will also get to talk about what happened to their friendship and partnership as musicians.
"Freda will be in season 3. She's part of our story. It's not over. Jamal understands she's a victim, but he still has to deal with the fact that she shot him. It was a hugely traumatizing event that she perpetrated on him. But he believes in her and in the mission of ending the cycle. So he's going to have to do something about it," she said.
Based on what Chaiken said, one can surmise that Jamal will eventually forgive Freda for what she has done to him.
Unfortunately, Jamal's decision may not sit well with the entire Lyon family who has been very protective of him.
Some fans believe that none of Lucious' sons should suffer because of all of his wrongdoings and are therefore interested in seeing Freda actually attempt to get rid of the lead character.
One fan @NM wrote, "Ugh. Can Lucious just get what's coming to him? What he said was disgusting and I wish he did take that bullet and ended up paralyzed that also lead to impotence."
Another fan @Rachel believes that Jamal and Freda should still work together, and the former should focus on making more music with the latter.
"Empire" season 3 will premiere on FOX sometime this year.
