After losing his job over accusations of having an indecent affair with a television anchor, a Chinese public official is now reporting back to work, just barely a week after his dismissal.

A video made rounds in April, showing a man walking around a room in his pyjamas and a woman dressing up, wrote the South China Morning Post.

Three different scenes were seen in the video, both the man and the woman walking around in what appeared to be the same flat. In another scene, the woman was shown piggyback-riding the middle-aged man.

According to the SCMP, the man was Jin Zeyin, a former deputy secretary-general of the Zhangjiajie municipal government in Hunan Province.

The video was part of a post made by the unnamed husband of "Lu," the alleged woman in the video. Lu purportedly worked for a local television as a news reporter.

The footage was said to be taken by a hidden camera, although it was not clear how the husband managed to obtain a copy of it.

In the post, the husband accused Jin of giving his wife a luxury BMW sedan. He also claimed that the former public official was providing Lu with 1 million yuan or about HK$1.2 million per year.

"Since 2012, Jin has given Lu a BMW sedan as a gift and nearly 1 million yuan a year to fund her lifestyle," said the husband in his post, as quoted by the SCMP.

The connection between Jin and Lu started when the two worked for the same district.

After the alleged four-year secret affair was revealed in public, Jin was sacked due to "problems with his private life," with his profile being discarded from his office's official website, reported Thepaper.cn.

However, with no more than a week after getting axed, Jin is now back working for the government.

The Zhangjiajie government argued that while the investigation is underway, it is allowing Jin to work as a civil servant until the case gets its verdict.
