Emojis are now universally coming to the Facebook Messenger as the social network rolls out a large update that allows users to send and receive the small icons in their conversations.

The change has been anticipated by billions of users across the world for quite some time. Before the roll out, not all emojis were seen properly because it depended on the recipient's phone if he or she had the emojis present.

Now, users of Facebook Messenger on both the iOS and Android platform will be able to see every emoji available as it would come with the app itself. There are over 1500 newly designed emojis for users to enjoy, Gizmodo has learned.

Users can even choose from a spectrum of skin tones. The social networking site has been promoting diversity through their emojis.

The emoji rollout for Facebook Messenger was announced by the social networking giant through their own Facebook post. They said that they are addressing the woes of emoji through a standardized solution.

" In other words, no more broken-looking black boxes or emojis that just don't make sense. Our characters are consistent every time you use them, no matter what platform the recipient is on," said Facebook.

What sets the Facebook Messenger emojis apart is its wide range of choices. Other keyboard emojis simply have just a few that are basically smileys without any creative design.

Texting and communicating has evolved throughout the years. The use of photos and images instead of just plain text has seen a large increase thanks to the advancement of technology.

In fact, the Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2015 was not even a word at all. The dictionary chose the "Face with Tears of Joy" emoji because of its popularity across the globe.

The emoji update will roll out globally to Facebook Messenger users several hours from now. Users will be able to construct their messages with the new emojis to spice them up.
