OnePlus is now launching their OnePlus 3 flagship Android smartphone on June 14 without the need for any invitation, which is a surprising move for the tech company.

Previously, OnePlus has set out invitations for people who they saw worthy to buy their flagship phones. Now, the OnePlus 3 will finally be available to the public regardless if they were invited or not.

Customers who are interested to buy the new flagship phone can just go to the website on the release date to buy one. However, the company did not mention how many models will be available and for how long.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said that the invitation-only method for their previous smartphones were a strategy that helped their company stay afloat amidst the saturated market, WIRED has learned. The company was able to control how much they were supposed to manufacture in order to not waste their resources for unsold phones.

The new OnePlus 3 is expected to have a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080. It will also run the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by default.

Other specs include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is found on most high-end smartphones. It will also be available in 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants with up to 64GB for the internal storage.

Another benefit of the invitation method that OnePlus implemented for their OnePlus One and OnePlus Two smartphones was that Android fans were way more excited, The Verge reported. They would often fight for the chance to buy the company's cheap but excellent phone.

The OnePlus 3 shoots between the mid-end and the high-end smartphone market with a price tag of just $300. It could battle the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe as they are both in the same price range with the latter having better specs overall.

Still, there will be users who will be able to buy the new phone earlier than the others in the company's "The Loop" virtual reality experience event starting on 12:30 PM Eastern time on June 14. Afterwards, people who failed to join the event will still be able to buy the OnePlus 3 on their website at 3 pm.
