"Final Fantasy XV" is actually the fifteenth installment in the "Final Fantasy" series, which is an action role-playing video game. The fifteenth installment is currently being developed by Square Enix for Xbox One and Playstation 4.

The CG-animated film is being directed by Takeshi Nozue. The film is expected to narrate the story that follows the popular computer game. The timeline of the film runs parallel to the events that take place in the game. On the contrary, the film would focus on a different main character, as compared to Noctis Lucis Caelum in the game.

Apart from Headey and Bean, the fans would also get an opportunity to hear "Breaking Bad" actor Aaron Paul's voice as well. Paul will voice over the character of Nyx, a soldier in the film.

"The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember," a spokesman for Square Enix told the Examiner. "King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive."

"Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" is slated to be released in Japan on July 9, 2016. The English version of the film will be made available for streaming and download around the same time. On the other hand, the video game "Final Fantasy XV" will be released for Playstation 4 and Xbox One platform on Sept. 30, 2016.
